The Wanderer by Sharon Creech

Review by Kevin

The Wanderer, by Sharon Creech, is a book about a girl named Sophie who sails across the Atlantic to England with her cousins Cody and Brian , and her uncles Dock, Mo, and Stew to visit her grandfather, Bompie. Along the way, they search for someone, but only Uncle Dock knows who, Also, they "find" themselves and some interesting things about each other. They also teach each other new things, some unrelated to sailing.

Sophie is an outgoing, boyish girl that knows a lot more about boats/sailing than other girls and she loves to sail. While sailing, she finds out something surprising about herself. Cody is a joker by heart and never takes things seriously. Brian, on the other hand, is very uptight and serious. He makes sure he knows where everybody is "just in case".

I think the book is a good book because it has lots of surprising twists and turns. Also, if you flipped to the end of the book, you would be completely lost because it's not one of those books where you can guess what is going to happen next. One thing that's for sure is that it is not boring.
