A Journey To The Centre Of The Earth by Jules Verne: Reviewed by Sam E.

For my blog, I read, A Journey To the Centre of the Earth. It all starts when a boy named Axel is studying in his uncle's,Professor Lindenbrock, office. Lindenbrock comes storming into their house, happy that he purchased a new book, which is very old. When Lindenbrock has gone out for the day, Axel studies the book. He finds a note. At first, he felt happy that he found the note. But after he deciphers it, Axel finds something terrifing. What he finds is a note containing information about a map to the centre of the earth. The note also says that the centre of the earth is under the Icelandic mountain of Sneffels. After the discovery of this note, Axel quickly burns the note. As clever as Axel is, Lindenbrock finds out. Of course, Lindenbrock wants to start on their journey immediately. The first little trip they have to take was a trip to the island of Iceland. There they meet up with their guide, Hans. Hans is a big man who doesn't say much. When they get to the top of the mountain; they find a huge hole. They begin their descent into the massive crater, but after a while they come along a tunnel. They decide to go through it.

After they go into the pathway, Axel finds himself lost. After a while, he begins to hear a voice. At first, Axel thinks that his mind is playing tricks on him. But after a while, he still hears it. He moves closer, and closer to the voice. Then, Lindenbrock and Axel are united again. After many days of continuing down the tunnel, the gang comes across a HUGE area of land. They walk a while through the forest, and then they come across an underground subterranean ocean. They cross the ocean, but on the way, they witness a fight of a lifetime. After the ocean they come to a new area of land. Lindenbrock figures out that the only out of the earth is to be shot out of a geyser. When they get to the geyser, they put their raft on top of the hole and wait. After about five hours the geyser releases the power that in holds and they are shot out of the earth, into Italy. I think that this book is a great book, and anyone who reads will find it interesting. Especially, for those who prefer adventure books.
