Eleven by Patricia Reilly Giff: Review by Erin

Eleven
I just finished a great book, Eleven. This book is about an eleven year old boy named, Sam. Sam Macenzie? Sam Bell? This whole story started when Sam decided to go hunting for his birthday presents. He looked every where imaginable, in the couch cushions, under the beds, in closets, just about everywhere, but the attic! The day before his birthday Sam decided to go look in the attic. The stairs were in Uncle Mack's room. He was asleep, but Sam thought he would wake him, There was only one other way to the attic...climbing up the building! He did. On his way up the night cat was below him...meowing and waking everyone. When Sam got up in the attic he saw chests and everything, but the presents. He looked over at a chest...there was a newspaper article sticking out. It said MISS...the other part was in the locked chest. Below the words there was a picture of about a three year old boy. It was him. He studied the paper for awhile. He thought that the cut off letters said ING...but it together, and MISSING! He read as much as he could. The name was Sam Bell...not Makenzie! Was this him? There was a new girl in his class named Caroline. She read all day long. He thought maybe she could read it for him. Because of his LOW reading level he needed help. Sam never new who to read and one of his family members was teaching him. He and Caroline started becoming friends. That is when he decided to ask her for help.

I loved this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes cliff hangers. I am personally not a big fan of reading. But, with this book I could not put it down! I enjoy books that are not to long or not to short so you have to infer. The book is a great book that I would recommend to anyone! Will Caroline be able to help him? Will she want to help him? Will she help him? Who really is he? Read Eleven to find out!
