The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart: Review by Jane D.

The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Prisoner's Dilemma by Trenton Lee Stewart is a wonderful book. It is the third book in the Mysterious Benedict Society series. This story is filled with challenging riddles, huge problems and unexpected solutions!

Four children named Reynie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance have been living together with Mr. Benedict and their families since their last adventure, The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey. But that's another story. Mr. Benedict has an evil twin brother named Mr. Curtain. The twins were separated at birth. Mr. Curtain designed a brain sweeping machine that is called The Whisperer. During their last journey the kids, with help from Mr. Benedict and Milligan(Kate's Dad), stole The Whisperer from Mr. Curtain. Mr. Curtain wants his machine back and he'll do anything do get it. So, he shuts down all of the city's power and sneaks into the house to take The Whisperer.

During all this madness Constance runs away. They have to find her before Mr. Curtain's spies do. Milligan calls the spies Ten Men because they have ten ways to hurt you. They are always disguised as business men. In their briefcases they keep all their weapons. Who knew laser pointers and pencils could be so deadly?

Will Reynie, Kate, and Sticky find Constance before the Ten Men do? Will The Benedict Society ever get The Whisperer back? Will they defeat Mr. Curtain once and for all? Read this action-packed, and exciting book to find out.
