The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

In this book, a ordinary kid fights monsters and goes on a amazing journey just to find out the adventure just started. What is not to like?

Percy Jackson is a ordinary kid as normal as a kid who drops out of every school he went to. He is also a son of the Greek God Poseidon. Poseidon is the God of water. He and the rest of the Gods are very real. Percy is droped off at camp right after his Mom is dies (or so he thinks) and his friend Grover tells him he is half goat. Percy has a rough time at camp between being new and being Poseidon`s son. Percy makes friends like Annabeth and enemies like Clarisse. Percy soon finds out that he and his friends (Grover and Anabeth) have to get Zeus most powerful weapon in ten days. During this journey he will face a scorpion, a too perfect hotel, old math teachers, sinister carnival rides, and even a God. This was one of the best books I have ever read. I gave this book five stars. The only warning is have the other books in the series on hand .
