The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

          The Last Song is a story about a girl named Ronnie. Her mom and dad are divorced. She has to visit her dad for the summer; she lives in New York but her dad lives in the south. She has to leave her life of stealing to become the girl her mom always wanted her to be. One night at a fair in town Ronnie bumped into a guy she never thought she would fall for named Will, but in the south anything could happen. When Will and Ronnie fall in love a party loving guy named Marcus tries to get in the way of their love by taunting Will with Will's best friend's dark past. When Will tells Ronnie the truth of his best friend Scott, how will she react? Will Ronnie and Will last or is it just a summer romance going nowhere? Will has to go to college in Nashville while Ronnie has to go back home. Will their long distance relationship last?


         While they are making the best of their summer one of Ronnie's only friends does the worst thing she could. Now Ronnie has to go to court and Will's mom already disapproves of her, what will happen when she finds out? Ronnie feels like her world is falling apart when she finds out a heart-wrenching secret is taking her father away from her. Will he see the end of the summer? Will and Ronnie start to drift apart as the summer is coming to an end. Will goes off to Nashville to go to college and Ronnie's little brother and mom go back to New York while she cares for her father. Ronnie had played the piano all her life and vows she will never play again. Will she break that promise to herself to show her dad that she still cares about the musical past they shared. After going back to New York Ronnie realized that she wants to play the piano, so she attends Julliard.  While playing the piano in the school's audition room she is numb and lifeless. And then a surprise happens that makes her able to feel again.
