Welcome!

Welcome to 6th Grade Upstairs ELA! On this site, we will post your reviews of your Free Reading Books. We hope that you will enjoy sharing your opinions on the books that you have read with your classmates and teachers. We also hope that you will find this site to be a valuable resource when you choose books to read.

The details:
  • You are required to post two reviews per quarter (one for the first quarter, since we're just getting started).
  • You may write or type your reviews. If you type them, email them to your teacher: meghan.greenberg@reading.k12.ma.us or bblack@reading.k12.ma.us.
  • Reviews should be at least 200 words in length.

You can organize your review however you choose to, as long as each review includes:
  • The book's title and author
  • The genre of the book
  • A brief introduction to the plot that does not give away surprises
  • A description of one of the characters
  • Your opinion of the book and why you feel that way
  • Any other information you think your classmates should know about the book when they are deciding whether to read it or not
Be sure to include fascinating details about the plot, characters, and setting that will make your reviews exciting for your classmates to read. Think of Ms. Connolly's book talks for inspiration. Her writing is so descriptive that she has made some of you run to the library after class to check out books!

  1. How do you see the reviews posted on this blog? I was looking since the first term review.
